Stable Cottage in Painswick, Gloucestershire is a recently renovated barn conversion set within the grounds of a beautiful Georgian Manor House. The stylish holiday home comfortably sleeps up to four guests and happily welcomes dogs.
The tastefully decorated holiday cottage is set over two floors and has two en-suite-bedrooms; on the ground floor is a double bedroom with a king-size bed and the other, which is situated upstairs is a comfortable twin. Outside, guests can enjoy a private garden complete with a Pétanque piste and a terrace perfect for alfresco dinners.

Dining area
Guests enter this beautiful holiday home through the stable-style door and are welcomed into a character dining area. The dining area features a convertible table with enough space to comfortably seat four when extended, and when stowed in its smaller form, the table is ideal for breakfasts or romantic dinners for two.
Living area
From the entrance, two steps to your right take you down into the living area where you will find a smart TV, two comfortable chairs and a sofa along with a selection of books. To the front of the living room there are double doors leading out to the cottage’s private garden.
Kitchen
To the left of the dining area and main entrance is the well-equipped galley kitchen. On one side of the kitchen there is a large, aga style, modern oven with three compartments and a gas hob. Other appliances include a combination microwave/oven, a dishwasher and a fridge/freezer with an ice dispenser. The kitchen has been fitted to a very high standard and features a range of cupboards and drawers filled with a generous selection of cooking equipment and cutlery.
Master Bedroom
Along from the kitchen is the Master Bedroom. This stunning room has a super-king-size bed with a comfortable headboard and dimmable reading lights. Around the bedroom guests will discover multiple sockets and bedside tables with drawers. At the foot of the bed is a ceiling level window for light and privacy, along with a double door, which opens out onto the terrace and private garden. In addition to the double door, there is a latched stable door which can be closed for complete privacy.
Ensuite
The Master Bedroom benefits from a gorgeous en-suite bathroom, which features a large walk-in shower with a shower seat and two shower heads, a whirlpool bath, a WC and a wash basin. There is also a large storage cupboard for your toiletries and towels.
Twin Bedroom
From the dining area a staircase leads to the first floor and the twin bedroom. Situated under the eaves of the former stables this bedroom has two single beds and a pair of chairs.
Shower-room
A large walk-in closet separates the bedroom from the en-suite bathroom, which is styled as a wetroom with a large shower area complete with twin shower heads, a wash basin and a WC.
Access and Grounds
The Stable is accessed via a gravel driveway with electric gates. At the end of the driveway is a dedicated private parking area for two cars. From the parking area there are a few steps up to the holiday cottage’s gated entrance. Please note that the grounds of the manor house are not for guests to access or use.
Garden & Pétanque
Through the gate, you’ll enter your private, beautifully kept garden, featuring a Pétanque piste overlooked by a gravelled terrace with a dining table and chairs. This garden is surrounded by tall fences and hedges, which will keep all but the most adventurous dogs and children from wandering off.
Pétanque is a french sport similar to boules, it is played on a small loose gravel surface called a piste. In the sport, players or teams play their boules/balls towards a target ball. The full rules can be found in the welcome pack within the cottage.
